It’s About Time

Two percent.

That's the proportion of Congress in U.S history that's been made up of women.

This shocking figure is just one symptom of a huge problem facing our country: We don't have nearly enough women in elected office.

From local government to national office in Washington, women bring a unique perspective and fresh ideas to the most important issues facing our society, like health care, education and security. But currently women hold less than a quarter of all elected offices in our country.

This has to change, and Women's Campaign Forum is leading the charge. We are fully dedicated to ensuring pro-choice women of all political parties are leaders in politics, and now you have a terrific opportunity to join us.

WCF is proud to announce the She Should Run campaign, a comprehensive effort to gather nominations of 1,000 pro-choice women who should run for public office. We are committed to ensuring these women get the essential encouragement they need and to providing them access to key campaign education and resources.

What we need from you are the nominations. Maybe your child's teacher has some excellent ideas about education reform. Maybe your aunt is a tireless community activist. Maybe your lawyer has talked about running for office but never taken the leap. Research shows these women are much more likely to run if someone asks them to.

Fill out our nomination form, and send a woman in your life on her way toward becoming the civic leader she was always meant to be.
