The Nominees Are In
The She Should Run campaign has been a big success so far.
We've collected the nominations of talented, ambitious women across the country who would make terrific elected officials.
But nominating these women is only the first step. Now we've started following up with them, letting them know that their friends and family want them to run for office. It's been a real treat to speak with these nominees. Their accomplishments and their vision for the future are truly inspiring, and many of them are very excited to have the opportunity to run for office.
Since they are serious about becoming a candidate, they asked us to not use their names. But we still want to tell you a little bit about these women.
One nominee we spoke with works as a lawyer in New York, and although she's thought about running in the past, she was overwhelmed when we told her that eight different people had nominated her. She's strongly eager to put her energy, intelligence, and dedication to work for her fellow citizens as a public official. Now she's considering just which office to run for.
We also followed up recently with a community leader from Michigan who was thrilled to hear that she'd been nominated. As a member of several local organizations, she's passionate about making a difference in people's lives - especially when it comes to health care. Thanks to She Should Run, she knows she has the encouragement she needs to take the next step and run for the State House of Representatives.
Both of these women - and the rest of the She Should Run nominees - will receive the support and training they need from Women's Campaign Forum. We will help them get their campaigns started by providing them with the tools they need and helping to connect them with political parties and organizations in their area.
Getting to know these nominees better has only strengthened our commitment to the She Should Run campaign. Hundreds of talented women have been nominated already, but there are still many more out there who deserve a nomination of their own.
Keep the nominations coming, we'll follow up with your nominees, and together we can help build the next generation of great women leaders.
