WCF Congratulates Gov. Kathleen Sebelius on Her Nomination as HHS Secretary

The WCF congratulates Governor Kathleen Sebelius’ nomination for the HHS secretary. President Obama announced his choice on Monday, as part of the unveiling of the administration’s health care team. The two-term Democratic Governor of Kansas, who represents a dependable Republican state is known for her bi-partisanship, She is a former state insurance commissioner, and will bring her knowledge of health-care to the post. Governor Bredesen of Tennessee was quoted in a New York Times article discussing Ms. Sebelius’ qualifications. He explained, “She has an excellent mind, she makes decisions carefully and well, and her obvious empathy for the plight in which so many Americans find themselves will serve them and our country well,”
