Dr. Joy’s nationally syndicated daily radio show can be heard on the WOR Radio Network and is the longest running program of its kind. A licensed clinical psychologist, and author, Dr. Joy is beloved by her listeners for her compassionate, practical and substantive advice on everything from marriage to the best weekend movies. Dr. Joy has won numerous awards for her work including the American Psychological Associations President’s Award and the Talkers Magazine award for Best Female Talk Show Host. She has been named one of the 100 Most Influential Talk Show Hosts nine times. Her books include: It’s A Jungle Out There Jane, Dating for Dummies, The Nine Fantasies That Will Ruin Your Life, Dating Disasters and Getting Unstuck.
Betty Rollin
Author
Ms. Rollin is an accomplished author and former correspondent for NBC News. In her work for NBC, her special reports for Nightly News included a series on the Native Americans of Pine Ridge, South Dakota, which won both the duPont and Emmy awards. She now contributes reports for PBS’ Religion and Ethics Newsweekly. Ms. Rollin is the author of seven books, including First, You Cry, a story about her breast cancer and mastectomy, and Last Wish. Her most recent book is Here’s the Bright Side: of failure, fear, cancer, divorce and other bum raps.
Lt. Governor Bev Perdue
North Carolina, Gubernatorial Candidate
Lt. Governor Perdue was elected to her current post in 2000 and re-elected in 2004. Prior to her election as Lt. Governor, Perdue served in the North Carolina House of Representatives for two terms and the North Carolina Senate for five terms. During Perdue’s last six years in the Senate, she served as one of the state’s chief budget writers—the first woman to hold this position.
Assemblywoman Linda Stender
Candidate, U.S. House (NJ-07)
Assemblywoman Stender is running in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District. Serving her third term in the New Jersey General Assembly representing the 22nd legislative district, Ms. Stender is “meeting the challenge” on the environment; she has worked to reduce diesel emissions by trucks as well as toxic chemicals in schools.
