Mr. Fontana has written and produced numerous television shows, including St. Elsewhere, Oz, Homicide: Life on the Street and The Jury. He has received several awards for his work, including Emmy awards, Writers’ Guild Awards, Television Critics Association Awards and the Cable Ace Award.
Hendrik Hertzberg
Senior Editor, The New Yorker
Mr. Hertzberg is the Senior Editor of The New Yorker. From 1979 until 1981, he was President Carter’s chief speechwriter. He was editor of The New Republic magazine from 1981 until 1985 and again from 1988 until 1991. His years at The New Republic included positions as Contributing Editor, National Political Correspondent, Senior Editor, and Columnist. He has been Executive Editor and Editorial Director at The New Yorker magazine. He is also the author of Politics: Observations and Arguments.
Sarah Weddington

Winner Attorney, Roe v. Wade
In her first book, A Question of Choice, Dr. Weddington detailed the landmark Roe v. Wade case, which she successfully argued as a young attorney before the U.S. Supreme Court in 1973. In 1973, Dr. Weddington became the first woman from Austin to serve in the 150-member Texas House of Representatives, serving for three terms. In 1977, she was the first woman ever to hold the title of General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Agriculture where she supervised more than 200 lawyers, and from 1978 to 1981 she served in the Carter administration, working on women’s issues and leadership outreach. She is currently an adjunct professor at the University of Texas at Austin.
Naomi Wolf
Author, The End of America
Ms. Wolf’s first book, The Beauty Myth, was an international bestseller. Her later works included Fire With Fire: The New Female Power and How It Will Change The 21st Century, and Promiscuities: The Secret Struggle for Womanhood, published in 1997. Her essays have appeared in various publications including: The New Republic, Wall Street Journal, Glamour, Ms., Esquire, The Washington Post, and The New York Times. She is co-founder of the Board of The Woodhull Institute for Ethical Leadership, an organization devoted to training young women in ethical leadership for the 21st century.
District Attorney Kathleen Rice
Nassau County, NY
In November of 2005, Ms. Rice became the first woman elected district attorney in Long Island’s history. Ms. Rice began her legal career in 1992 as a prosecutor in the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office. In 1999, she was appointed by then-Attorney General Janet Reno as an assistant United States attorney in Philadelphia, one of the largest United States Attorney’s offices in the country. In 2003, she received the Director’s Award from then-Attorney General John Ashcroft for superior performance as an Assistant United States Attorney for the successful prosecution of corrupt City of Philadelphia plumbing inspectors.
Joan Fitz-Gerald
Candidate, U.S. House (CO-02)
Ms. Fitz-Gerald is running in Colorado’s 2nd Congressional District. Ms. Fitz-Gerald is “meeting the challenge” with her work on protecting the environment; she has pledged to put reducing carbon emissions and better fuel efficiency standards at the top of her agenda. As Colorado Senate President, Ms. Fitz-Gerald led the effort to pass a package of bills that included the first renewable energy standard, expanding energy efficiency programs and reformed the Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. She has received a 100% rating from the Colorado Conservation Voters for the last five years.
