Leslie Wohlman Himmel

Partner, Himmel & Meringoff Properties

Ms. Himmel has been Managing Partner of Himmel + Meringoff Properties, Inc. since 1985, and is one of the only women to take on large commercial office properties.  She and her partner, Stephen J. Meringoff, own and control a portfolio of over 2 million square feet of secondary office buildings in New York City.  Ms. Himmel also serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Governors of the Real Estate Board of New York, and she has co-chaired the Economic Development Committee since 1995. 

Pamela Liebman

President & CEO, The Corcoran Group

Ms. Liebman has been President and Chief Executive Officer of The Corcoran Group, the country’s premier residential real estate company, since 2000. She provides strategic direction to the company which has sales of more than $13 billion annually, and oversees Corcoran’s 55 managers and 2700 employees. A nationally recognized market expert, she is frequently quoted as a real estate specialist by such leading news organizations as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, National Public Radio, and Bloomberg.

Bruce L. Paisner

President, Hearst Entertainment

Bruce Paisner is a vice president of The Hearst Corporation and president of Hearst Entertainment, Inc., which produces reality programming and administers distribution of Hearst’s television movie library. Mr. Paisner is also executive vice president of Hearst Entertainment & Syndication, the operating group responsible for Hearst’s interests in cable television networks, television production and distribution, newspaper syndication and merchandise licensing. Mr. Paisner began his media career in 1964 as a correspondent for Life. From 1973 to 1980, Mr. Paisner was president and chief executive officer of Time-Life Films, Inc. and a vice president of Time Incorporated.

Councilwoman Rosie Mendez

NYC

Councilwoman Mendez took office as the Councilmember in Manhattan’s Second District in January 2006. Rosie began her professional career as a tenant organizer and then became a housing specialist. After law school, she began work at Brooklyn Legal Services representing tenants in housing and welfare matters and counseling community-based organizations. Ms. Mendez has been re-elected as Democratic District Leader for four consecutive terms.

Betsy Markey

Candidate, U.S. House (CO-04)

Ms. Markey (D) is running in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District. A former business owner, Markey founded the Northern Democratic Colorado Democratic Business Coalition in 2001. Ms. Markey is “meeting the challenge” on economic security; she supports raising the minimum wage, expanding the Earned Income Tax Credit and fixing our unemployment insurance and low-income programs.
